What do you think? Where should we be moving?

List College Student Council does in fact have a specific position on the council whose primary role is to liaise between GSSC and LCSC. He or she attends meetings of both councils and has done so for years. It would be redundant to have a parallel position on the GSSC.

I beg to differ - the current liaison has no voting power, no say in how our school budget is spent, and no say in moving GS equality ahead. What I'm talking about is a proactive representation, a true caucus system, not "taxation without representation" as a liaison currenly has.

The LC liaison is elected by LC students only- it doesn’t make sense for a representative to have voting rights if he or she is not elected by the GSSC. LC is a different school, a different institution, and has its own separate council. It is inappropriate to use the same model as other student populations (such as international or parents) for LC.

On a completely separate note, in the past LC has been involved in orientation programs that the rest of GS was not involved in with SEAS, CC and BC. This was arranged by LC administration and is not under LCSC or GSSC jurisdiction.

Exactly! We need a voting member of GS who represents JTS needs. And a voting member who represents Veterans needs. And a voting member who represents LBGTQ needs. We need to represent everyone better. And a permanent List Voice is key.
